Infant Adoption

The majority of birthparents placing newborns through the Idaho Youth Ranch Adoption program desire an open adoptions.

Since 1983, the Idaho Youth Ranch has worked with birth parents and adoptive parents to provide loving and stable homes for newborns through the miracle of adoption.  The needs of the child are always the primary consideration in planning an adoption. The adoption process can be complex and is often viewed as being “overwhelming” by adoptive couples. Our experienced staff provides advocacy, guidance, support and education throughout the process. Requirements for adoptive parents applying to the infant adoption program include:

  1. Must have been married for at least two years
  2. Not more than one child already in the home
  3. Must have an infertility problem or medical reason for not having children
  4. Must be able to financially afford the cost of adoption
  5. Must have medical insurance which covers the child after adoption
  6. Must attend Adoptive Family Preparation classes
  7. Priority will be given to Idaho residents

Our experienced staff provides advocacy, guidance, support and education throughout the process.  Information about the legal process, openness in adoption, and other important information is relayed through our Adoption Awareness Class, which is required as part of the adoption process.
